Old Dominion Machinery Company
We proudly learned the business and honed our skills as the Old Dominion Box Company, Inc. Old Dominion Box operated from 1905 until the end of 2015. During our years in manufacturing, we produced rigid boxes, case made products, folding cartons, corrugated containers, paperboard, and packaging machinery. Our team’s expertise, knowledge, and experience were born of these various disciplines and polished over our many collective years on the job. In recent years, we’ve sold and serviced used rigid box and case making machinery manufactured by FMC Crathern and their predecessors, along with essential support machinery manufactured by a host of other companies.
During this time, as we became more familiar with the markets we were serving, something really jumped out at us. As our customers contemplated the purchase of traditional mechanical rigid box and case making machinery they really, only had two viable options. They could either buy used FMC Crathern machinery or they could buy new machinery made by a fine company over in Italy. But you know, there was, and is, an enormous difference in price between the two. We saw a huge hole just begging to be plugged. We couldn’t help but think that it would be really nice if we could offer more affordable, user-friendly options to our friends and customers who manufacture rigid boxes and case made products. So we spent a great deal of time and energy searching for the right opportunities around the world to do just that. Like you, we know that buying lower cost replica machinery from emerging markets can be a tad difficult to get comfortable with, so we chose to steer clear of those options. I am very pleased to report, that in the final analysis, our search yielded three extraordinary companies that more than fill that void, deliver exceptional value, and offer you a great return on your investment.
In 2016, we started Old Dominion Machinery Company, LLC to focus exclusively on the sale of new and used rigid box, case making, ground breaking, and related converting machinery. We are now the North American representative and support arm for Fuchu Shiko Co., Ltd of Hiroshima, Japan and Zechini Gra-For of Milan, Italy’s Luxury Packaging Line. Our vision? Pretty simple. We want to supply our friends and customers in the rigid box, case making, and related industries an array of good, cost effective, machinery solutions that will help assure their profitability, growth, and longevity. And of course, back it all up. If we do our job, we expect we’ll earn your trust and profit fairly from our own hard work. What more can you ask for? Thanks for taking time to read about us. We do look forward to hearing from you.
